Has anyone ever used SSD ointment on cold sores? - ssd cream cold sores

I am rarely cold sores. Every two years a few cultures in the corner of my mouth .... Impact on a dentist in 9 years ago. I have tried many topical treatments in the last few years to get rid of them, but nothing works really good. Someone at work recommended the use of SSD (silver sulfadiazine 1%) cream on the wound. Do you think that it works?
